Considered by us to be the greatest overland adventure in South America taking in the driest place on the planet and the vast, stunning landscape of southwest Bolivia, including the incredible Salar de Uyuni salt lake. Convenient flights mean that it is possible to easily reach Cuzco in a day. The city is home to one of the world's unique architectures, a fusion of Incan foundations with Spanish colonial buildings constructed atop. Time is spent in the stunning Sacred Valley, which boasts large Inca sites, colourful markets and friendly local people, before heading to the iconic citadel of Machu Picchu.

Itinerary highlights

  • Traverse the Salar de Uyuni, one of Latin America's most remote and stunning landscapes.

  • Visit the iconic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

  • Bathe in the thermal pools of the hot springs in the Atacama Desert.
