Day 1 Hobart
On arrival into Hobart you will be transferred by private vehicle to your downtown accommodation. The remainder of the day is free to relax. Perhaps shake off the jet lag by taking the MONA ferry over to David Walsh's weird and wonderful museum of modern art - a Tasmanian icon!
Day 2 Hobart
Today you will take a thrilling cruise around Bruny Island - full of stunning wildlife such as seals, sea birds, dolphins and whales, as well as dramatic coastal scenery. The next stop south from here is the Antarctic, so this truly is wild Tasmania at it's finest.
Day 3 Strahan & Gordon River
Drive towards the rugged west coast and the pretty town of Strahan today, near the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. This journey should take most of the day as there is so much to see and do on the way - you might want to stop near Derwent Bridge to see the magnificent craftsmanship at the Wall in the Wilderness.
Day 4 Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
Take a cruise this morning to explore the wildlife and history of the majestic Gordon River - we will ensure you have the best seating on the Premium Upper Deck to experience this landmark in all it's glory. This afternoon drive to Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park.
Day 5 Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
Explore the walks of the national park today at your leisure taking in the breath taking views of Cradle Mountain. The Devils@Cradle is a great opportunity to meet a Tasmanian devil and learn more about these endangered creatures.
Day 6 Launceston
Drive across the northern countryside of Tasmania to Launceston. The Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm is a short detour to the north of Deloraine and serves a delicious lunch in a pretty setting.
Day 7 Launceston
Today is a free day in Launceston - you might like to visit the nearby Tamar Valley which is a fantastic example of the boutique wineries of Tasmania which are producing some of the world finest cool climate wines - Tassie's best kept secret!
Day 8 Freycinet National Park
Continue your drive across the north of the state today to the east coast and Freycinet National Park. The scenery here is very different from it's west coast counterparts - the rest of the day is at leisure to explore this wild coastline and some fantastic east coast wineries.
Day 9 Freycinet National Park
Explore the Freycinet Peninsula with opportunities for spotting dolphins, albatrosses and other wildlife. Take some time to see Wineglass Bay from the view point to get the full effect and see the shape of the Isthmus.
