Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us if you would also like us to arrange your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Kenmare. Take a ferry journey across to Rosslare in southeast Ireland. Once you arrive at the Rosslare ferry port, you'll drive west to the pretty, vibrantly hued town of Kenmare on the west coast, close to the southern end of the Wild Atlantic Way.

  • Spend the day exploring the Beara Peninsula, with its wild and rugged coastline, fantastic views across to the Ring of Kerry and the Skellig Islands, and archaeological remains. Once you've returned to Kenmare, embark on a kayaking trip in Kenmare Bay. Overlooked by mountains and dotted with small, forested islands, the bay is a beautiful place to explore. Watch out for resident seal colonies and other marine wildlife.

  • Drive north to Killarney today, a scenic journey through the mountains. Once you've arrived and settled into your centrally located hotel, meet your private guide and set off on a guided hike up Torc Mountain. The walk provides spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and lochs and despite its relatively small size (525 m or 1,640 ft) its isolation overlooking the Lakes of Killarney gives it better views than many of the larger mountains nearby.

  • Set off on a self-drive exploration of the gorgeous coastal scenery of the Ring of Kerry today. You'll pass coves, bays, cliffs and islands, stop in various viewpoints and explore pretty fishing villages, before returning through Killarney National Park. In the evening, indulge in an Irish whiskey and farmhouse cheese pairing session in the town.

  • Leave Killarney today and drive to Adare, via the spectacularly scenic Dingle Peninsula. Spend the day exploring its sandy beaches, rocky bays and rugged hills, enjoying fantastic views toward the Skellig Islands and visiting local villages, galleries, artisan studios or ancient archaeological remains. Stay just outside Adare in a small, boutique manor house hotel.

  • Drive to Connemara today, journeying via the wild and desolate Burren in County Clare. Explore its limestone karst pavement scenery, perhaps visit the Cliffs of Moher or indulge in delicious, local seafood. You'll be staying for the next three nights in an exclusive 'restaurant with rooms' style hotel in the heart of Connemara.

  • Take the ferry to Inis Mór, where you'll meet your private guide and set about exploring the island by bicycle. Inis Mór is the largest of the Aran islands, and is home to a number of prehistoric sites. Its landscape is similar to that of the Burren, with desolate karst pavement yet with a surprising biodiversity.

  • Spend the day in Connemara National Park, visiting small fishing villages, walking in the mountains, and driving past numerous beaches, mountain farms and excellent viewpoints. You'll also visit the striking Kylemore Abbey, to explore its interiors and impressive grounds.

  • Leave Connemara and drive southeast across the country, to spend your final night in the medieval town of Kilkenny. Upon arrival you have the rest of the day at leisure to wander through the attractive streets, visit Kilkenny Castle or perhaps indulge in a tasting at Smithwick's Brewery in the heart of town.

  • Drive the short distance back to Rosslare today in time to board the ferry back to the UK. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
