L’Oliveraie de Marigha, set on a sizeable plot of olive groves, is a beautiful and peaceful place to base yourself while you explore the High Atlas Mountains and surrounding area. The majority of accommodation is in chalets, allowing guests to enjoy their own private slice of this gorgeous Moroccan countryside. The chalets are unassuming yet comfortable and are set in the quietest part of the gardens, where the only sounds will be the calls of birds and other wildlife. The large pools set in the property's grounds offer a place to cool down in the Moroccan sunshine, while further afield, guests can go hiking in the mountains, spot wildlife in Toubkal National Park or venture to the souks of Asni.

The handful of chalet-style rooms are scattered across the gardens, consisting of Standard and Superior options. Each is simply decorated in a fairly modern style, comprising of a spacious en suite bathroom with a shower and twin wash basins, air conditioning, heating and a private terrace. While they come with a king size bed, a cot or two small single beds can be added to accommodate families. Superior rooms are much more spacious, featuring a cozy living area with a fireplace that's separate from the main bedroom.

L’Oliveraie de Marigha is located in a small village called Marigha in the Ourigane area of the High Atlas Mountains, just an hour’s drive south of Marrakesh. The property is within easy reach of the Marigha salt mines, Toubkal National Park, Ourigane Lake and the Tinmal Mosque.

Food and Drink

For breakfast, you can expect traditional Moroccan breads and jams. Lunch and dinner are served either on the patio by the pool or in the cozy indoor restaurant. The property is licensed to serve alcohol, with its bar, situated by the pool area, making a great to unwind with a drink during the summer months.

L’Oliveraie de Marigha is a fantastic property for families, with its chalets able to accommodate extra beds for those staying with children. With lots of space for children to play, a shallow paddling pool aimed at children, a mini-golf course and table tennis, there's lots to keep the family occupied. In addition, the property offers lots of family-friendly excursions such as mule and donkey rides.

Facilities and Activities

The hotel offers two swimming pools; one is 200 meters long with a paddling pool for children and is open to the public, and the other is slightly smaller but is set in a quieter area for the exclusive use of hotel guests. There's also a small spa with a Moroccan hammam, but treatments need to be booked in advance. Guests can make use of the 12-hole mini-golf course and ping pong table. There's also an area for playing boules in the grounds. Wi-Fi is available in the communal areas by the pool, and a laundry service is available for an additional charge.

The property can be accessed by car, unlike some other hotels in the mountains which require an uphill walk. There are ramps throughout the gardens for easy access to the hotel's facilities, and all rooms are also accessible by wheelchair.

Our opinion

Offering excellent value for money, L'Oliveraie de Marigha is a relaxed, unpretentious and friendly hotel in a peaceful, scenic setting.
