An intimate and exclusive collection of three townhouses in Edinburgh’s attractive, Georgian New Town, The Howard has 19 butler-serviced rooms to cater for your every need. Downstairs, the public bar-lounge and restaurant are both small but elegantly furnished, with light walls and tartan carpets. High-quality Scottish cuisine is served in The Atholl restaurant for both lunch and dinner, although private dining is available in your room. Guest rooms are spacious and tasteful, and facilities include luxury modern amenities but no minibar or tea/coffee making facilities, as your personal butler is on hand for any such requests.
Rooms at The Howard are large and fairly simply furnished, with elegant creams, greens and purples in the decor. Facilities include complimentary international calls, iPod docking stations and USB chargers but no minibar or tea and coffee making facilities, as guests can make use of their personal butler for such requests. Each room is unique in size and style, although luxury rooms are at the back of the property, making them quieter than the standard rooms. Suites have high ceilings and some have working fireplaces, and all terrace suites are below the ground floor with their own private street entrance.
The Howard is situated on a pleasant Georgian street of townhouses, just a ten minute walk from the shops of Princes Street or around 15 minutes from the Royal Mile. The hotel’s local vicinity is quiet and residential, with attractive boutique shops and independent cafes lining the main street leading towards the distinctive Scott Monument on Princes Street.
Food and Drink
The Atholl is the hotel’s intimate dining room, which serves lunch and dinner from an à la carte menu of Scottish cuisine, this can also be served in your room. In addition to the à la carte options, there is also an exquisite seven-course tasting menu option, which can be paired with wine. Afternoon tea is served daily between 2pm and 5pm.
We love The Howard’s elegant, discreet nature and exclusive levels of service.
