This trip takes in the highlights of Cambodia combined with one of Thailand's lesser known beach destinations. Start in Siem Reap, the gateway to the old Kingdom of Angkor where you will spend a few days uncovering some magnificent temples and historical gems. Continue overland to the colonial retreat of Battambang where you learn about the growing Khmer food and art scene, before journeying to the capital Phnom Penh. Here you will learn about the country's more recent history and view first hand the architectural evolution that has shaped the city. Travelling on you hug the southern coast, first visiting the sleepy town of Kampot where you dine in the midst of a picturesque pepper plantation before arriving in a remote tented camp on the western extremity of the country. End your trip by crossing into Thailand and relaxing at one of Koh Chang's best beach resorts.
