Full day Easter Island tour
Full day Easter Island tour, Chile
Enjoy a full day excursion on Easter Island, taking you on a historical journey. The first stop takes you to a restored Ahu called Vaihu, which is located in Te'e Hanga Bay on the south coast of the island. You then continue to Akahanga Ahu, and it is believed that the tomb of the famous King Hotu Matua is located next to this Ahu. You then come to one of the most important sites of the Rapa Nui culture, the Rano Raraku quarry, where some 900 statues were believed to have been carved from, 397 of them are still lying or standing in various stages of construction and transportation around the quarry.
You will have time to explore the quarry at your own leisure, before enjoying lunch at the visitor centre. After lunch you continue to Ahu Tongariki, which is the row of 15 restored statues, the largest on the island. The penultimate site to visit is Te Pito Ote Henua, which translates to the "Navel of the World ", as well as Te Pito Kura. Finally you will reach the beach of Anakena, where you will find two platforms, the Ahu Nau and Ature Huki, both of which have been restored. You'll have time to relax on the beach, and even take a swim in the warm Pacific waters, before returning to your hotel at the end of the day. Please do bear in mind that the order of the excursion may vary due to weather conditions.
