Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to San José & Central Valley. Arrive in Costa Rica's capital, San José, at any time today. You will be met at the airport and driven approximately 45 minutes to Chayote Lodge, in the heart of Costa Rica's main coffee growing region. Take the rest of the day to relax or explore.

  • This morning enjoy a visit to a nearby working coffee farm. You'll walk through the coffee plantation, learning more about its production, from bean to cup. You'll also, of course, have the chance to taste some of the home-grown produce. The afternoon is free back at the lodge. Perhaps explore some of the trails in the forest reserve with a birdwatching guide or other activities can be arranged such as zip-lining, a trip to the Poas Volcano or a visit to Naranjo, Costa Rica's coffee capital.

  • A short private transfer will take you back to the airport in San José from where you'll take a short scenic flight south to the Osa Peninsula. You'll be met at the airport in Puerto Jiménez and transferred to Lapa Rios, your home for the next four nights.

  • Your first day to explore the Osa Peninsula — all guided on-site tours are included in your stay, so immerse yourself in the rainforest and join as many tours as possible.

  • Second day on the Osa Peninsula — hike the jungle trails, go birdwatching at sunrise or sunset, or go horseback riding along wild beaches.

  • Final day to enjoy the spectacular Osa Peninsula — admire the views from the swimming pool, go tree climbing or perhaps ocean kayaking.

  • Leaving the Osa Peninsula today, you'll fly back to San José in time for your onward arrangements home.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
