Thatch Caye Resort

The Atolls, Belize

Located just 25 minutes by boat from Dangriga, the Thatch Caye Resort has just 11 rooms made up of cabanas and bungalows. The bungalows are thatched roof individual rooms located over the water on stilts and have ceiling fans.

The cabanas are larger rooms with air conditioning, and also have a wonderful rooftop terrace with hammocks for relaxing after a day exploring the marine world of the area. There are plenty of activities on offer to visit the mainland highlights if you have not already been there, but the main reason for staying here is for the snorkelling, diving and fishing that can be arranged in the area.

OUR OPINION:

Very comfortable rooms with beautiful views and carefully maintained grounds make this one the best options in the area for exploring the South Water Caye Marine Reserve.

Accommodations on the island are all in keeping with the relaxed, rustic charm of the resort. Overwater thatched bungalows provide a comfortable and unique stay, high up on stilts over the ocean, with a private terrace and hammock for the ultimate relaxation. Premier overwater bungalows have 180 degree ocean views and are larger inside.

The cabanas are much larger houses with ocean views, en suite bathrooms, king sized beds and air-conditioning. These are ideal for those seeking more privacy and space, with modern decor, sleek white walls and wooden beach accents.
