Perched on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Pousada Maravilha enables guests to get away from it all in an intimate setting. With only five private bungalows and three suites — all with sweeping views of the island’s southern shoreline — you can enjoy a comfortable, peaceful stay. The bungalows come with their own hot tubs set on private decks, while the suites can accommodate up to four guests, making them a good option for families.

The property boasts one of the finest hotels on the island, with all dishes created using fresh local ingredients. While the island offers plenty of opportunity for exploration, including excellent snorkelling, it's also tempting to simply sit by the infinity pool, relax in the sauna or indulge in a bit of extra pampering with a massage.

OUR OPINION:

This property is known throughout Brazil as being one of the best places to stay, and we can't help but agree. It's a wonderful place to while away your time on this beautiful island. Simply visiting Fernando de Noronha is an experience reserved for the lucky few, and we think there's no better way to do so than by staying at Pousada Maravilha.

Rooms

There are just five private bungalows and three suites at this intimate property. The luxury suites can accommodate up to four people and have their own balconies for extra space, while the generously sized bungalows are designed for two guests, each with its own hot tub positioned on a private deck overlooking Baia do Sueste. Either option comes with a good range of modern amenities and en suite bathrooms. 

Location

The pousada is just minutes from the airport and a five-minute walk to Baia Sueste — one of the best snorkelling spots on Fernando de Noronha.

Food and drink

The restaurant is one of the best on the island. The archipelago's isolated location over 480 km (300 miles) from the mainland means that all ingredients are sourced locally but choices can be limited. However, the chefs at Pousada Maravilha enjoy rising to the challenge and have designed an incredibly diverse menu around seafood, pasta and meats.

Families

Children over the age of ten are welcome at Pousada Maravilha and can stay in the suites. Babysitting services are also available upon request.

Facilities and activities

Your time here can be spent cooling off in the infinity pool, unwinding in the sauna or indulging in a massage. Wi-Fi is available at the main house. Staff here can happily arrange for you to try some of the activities available locally, including snorkelling. Just speak to the front desk upon check-in about the options available.
