This large, family-friendly property boasts a wide range of onsite activities and is an ideal base for exploring the forests and granite ridges of Algonquin Provincial Park. A year-round resort, there are activities for every season from boating and hiking in the summer to skating and sleigh rides in winter.
OUR OPINION:
Whilst this is a large and perhaps slightly impersonal property, it’s good value for money for those who wish to be located at the gateway to Algonquin Provincial Park. We find the array of facilities and activities make this a family-friendly option.

This property offers 430 rooms, some with deer-themed decor and others more modern with clean, minimalist lines. Each guest room is air-conditioned, and offers complimentary Wi-Fi, tea/coffee-making facilities, private en suite bathroom and comfortable bedding. The Bayshore rooms are right on the beachside with views across the lake.
Location
Deerhurst is only a 45-minute drive from Algonquin Provincial Park, making this a great option for exploring this vast wilderness area. There are a number of restaurants and shops in the nearby town of Huntsville and Toronto is a two-hour drive away.
Food and drink
Enjoy casual fine dining with a view of the LaCloche Mountain range and the North Channel on Lake Huron. There are three restaurants including the Antler Steakhouse and a relaxed bistro, as well as a bar which often features live music.
Facilities and activities
Facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym, sauna, hot tub, squash courts, tennis courts, and golf course. The Amber Spa has a wide selection of treatments. Bikes, kayaks, canoes, and boats are available to explore the immediate area further. You may wish to enjoy the many hiking trails from the resort, take a horse riding lesson or fishing charter. There’s also an extensive selection of child-focused activities which change seasonally.
