Perched on the edge of a peninsula that juts out to the Atlantic Ocean, Point of View offers unobstructed water views from the majority of its rooms. It’s also conveniently located just a few minutes away from the Louisbourg Fortress, as well as nearby beaches and hiking trails. The airy rooms feature birch hardwood floors and custom furnishings. 

The hotel’s Beggar’s Banquet dining hall offers hearty Cape Breton breakfasts cooked to order every morning. In the evenings, guests can don a costume (provided) for a traditionally prepared dinner accompanied by musicians performing 18th-century songs and stories. 

OUR OPINION:

This seafront hotel combines a convenient location, airy rooms and unobstructed views of the ocean, making it a great base for exploring the area. The popular restaurant can be a bit noisy on summer evenings.

Rooms

Airy and spacious, many of the rooms feature hardwood floors, custom furnishings and ocean views. All rooms come with complimentary tea and coffee and a smart TV. Apartments come with a kitchen, as well.

Location

Thanks to its shoreline location, the hotel offers sweeping views of the ocean. Because the hotel is just out of town, you will need a car to travel to the fortress (10 minutes) or to downtown, which is around a 5 minutes' drive away.

Food and drink

There is a Cape Breton-themed restaurant on site that offers traditionally prepared seafood dinners with music and storytelling by performers wearing period attire. Costumes are provided for diners who want to join in the fun. Because it is popular with tourists and locals alike, we suggest booking reservations well in advance.
