The inn was built as a summer home for Broadway playwright Elmer Harris in 1913 , a time when the area was a popular retreat for artists and actors from New York. Every evening guests are invited to explore the kitchens and grounds with one of the chefs during Oyster Hour, chat as they shuck oysters. try salmon from the smokehouse or cocktails made using locally-distilled spirits.
