Rooms
Named after traditional Chinese opera characters, the 25 rooms are all in a modern style, and have comfortable beds. Although some rooms have windows facing the hallway, many have a view over the courtyard where you can overlook the Chinese traditional theatre. Each room includes free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, as well as a TV, kettle and a private bathroom. Although rooms here are not the largest on offer in Beijing, they will certainly provide a comfortable and convenient stay.
Location
With just a short walk to the central Houhai and Shichahai lakes, as well as a very short distance from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, the property is conveniently located within one of the city's ancient Hutong districts. However, taxis are unlikely to be able to drive you direct to the door (or even within the Hutong at all) as the streets here are so narrow, so you will need to walk at least a short distance if you do want to find a taxi.
Food and drink
The hotel offers a small buffet breakfast. Although there is an on-site bar, the hotel unfortunately does not have its own restaurant. Instead, at reception they have menus for all of the top quality local restaurants and they will either order it for you and have it delivered, or give you directions to the restaurant itself. Within walking distance are very good Western and Chinese restaurants.
