Marriott Hotel, Cairo, Egypt

Our rating: Medium

From a distance the two modern towers of the Marriott do not promise great things. However, what lies between the towers is far more enchanting: a palace, built for the visiting Empress Eugenie complete with verdant gardens, al fresco cafes and sumptuous dining rooms, now used as the public area of the hotel.
