Once a 16th-century silk workshop, the family owned L’Atelier is intimate and traditional and covered in creeping vines. From its stone spiral staircase to its roaring fireplace, exposed beams, grandfather clocks and antique furniture, this property exudes Provençal character.

The hotel is set in the village of Villeneuve-les-Avignon which is worth visiting in its own right as it is full of local character and charm and boasts a wealth of shops and restaurants. Just across the river is Avignon which is about 25 minutes away on foot or about 10 minutes by taxi. L’Atelier is also well-situated in the heart of Provence with the Roman aqueduct Pont-du-Gard to the west, the hilltop villages of the Lubéron to the east, and Les Alpilles mountain range and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to the south.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served in the sun-drenched breakfast room or outside on the terrace, and consists of a variety of hot and cold items including fresh produce and homemade jams. While there isn’t on on-site restaurant for dinner, there are many options to choose from nearby in Villeneuve-les-Avignon.
