Your guide will meet you at the launch wharf or your property and take you to the Royal Village of Maeva, which is one of the most important archaeological sites in the whole of Oceania. Maeva was the seat of power for the royal family on Huahine and so significant that there are more than 200 stone structures still surviving on Mata'ire'a Hill behind the main site. These include open air temples, agricultural terraces, house foundations, fortification walls and burial platforms.
After exploring the site on foot you continue to a vegetable and fruit plantation where you can feed the sacred giant blue eels at Faie village. You then drive up to Belvedere lookout to take in the panoramic view of Maroe Bay and Huahine Iti island. There is a bridge between the two islands of Nui and Iti and an interesting village at Fiti'i before you reach the main town of Fare, which is a mix of traditional and modern island life.
