Ananda, located some 45 minutes' drive from the holy town on Rishikesh, is set among 100 acres of forest and centred around the palace of the Maharaja of Tehri-Garhwal. It offers wonderful views of low Himalaya and down onto the valley of Rishikesh and the Ganges River below.
It is best known for their world-famous spa where you can enjoy the Indian Ayurvedic treatments and wellness programmes; they also offer many complimentary classes from yoga in their extensive well tended gardens to chanting and other stretching classes. Pre-booking of spa treatments is recommended so please do contact your specialist to arrange specific treatments or treatment packages.
There are 70 rooms set in a separate block away from the palace, some of which have beautiful views of the valley below. There are also two suites and three pool villas which offer the ultimate private retreats. You will be extremely well looked after during your stay here, no more so than in their superb restaurant where they have a wide selection of delicious food. For the more adventurous there is white-water rafting on the Ganges, good walks and a small nine hole golf course.
