Jawai Leopard Camp

Jawai Leopard Camp, India

The Jawai Leopard Camp is part of the luxurious SUJÁN brand. Away from the hustle and bustle, but still just a few hours from either Jodhpur or Udaipur, this camp has nine luxury tents as well as one royal suite. Each tent is stylish, spacious and beautifully designed, making the camp a unique wilderness retreat. Aside from adventures in the wild, there are also plenty of UNESCO sites and cultural experiences nearby to explore. Whether that be taking on the local children at street cricket, hiking to a temple for sunrise or cycling through rural villages. A wildlife hot spot, the area is known for its high population of leopards and the peaceful coexistence between these big cats and the local villagers and Rabari herdsmen.

The camp has its own 4x4s and naturalists who operate two game drives per day: one just before sunrise and the other departing an hour or so before dusk. Times and weather vary depending on the season. If you're staying there during the winter months, you'll need layers to keep warm. Aside from the leopards, there's a huge variety of bird species in the area (both native and migratory), monkeys, deer, lizards and even rare porcupines. The nearby Jawai Lake is a great spot for bird watching, as well as a sunset G&T. The 4x4s are well-stocked with birding books, binoculars and bottled water, and seat up to six people.

When not out exploring you can relax by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment or yoga lesson. The Jawai team are on hand to help make your stay a bespoke one; just chat to them on arrival about your plans and preferences.
