Baglio Oneto Resort

Baglio Oneto Resort

Marsala, Italy

Set upon the hillside above Trapani and Marsala, Baglio Oneto is a charming retreat. The Sicilian term 'baglio' refers to a fortified farmhouse and courtyard, and the hotel largely remains true to this design. Still owned by the original family, the 18th-century buildings have been lovingly converted, with one guest room situated in the fortified tower. Next to reception you’ll find the traditional palmento used for pressing the grapes.

As well as having a swimming pool, the property is part of a small wine estate that still produces wines for use in the hotel. Well-furnished in a classically simple style, a number of the rooms have their own terraces or balconies looking out over the countryside.

OUR OPINION:

Effortlessly charming, we particularly like the family-run nature of Baglio Oneto. Its large swimming pool and convenient location make it the ideal place to break up a long journey and cool off with some wine.
