Built into the hillside overlooking the Marina Grande, the Villa Brunella is a real oasis of calm from the bustling streets of Capri. As it sits high up on the hill it boasts fantastic sea views from some of the rooms, the luscious gardens filled with bougainvillea and the pool terrace.

The hotel has a very classic yet fresh feel to it with large airy rooms and antique furniture collected by the owner, Mr Vincenzo, on his travels. The friendly staff add to the personalised, intimate experience. The restaurant, which some say is one of the best in the area, offers fantastic sea views and a typical Caprese menu.

OUR OPINION:

A welcoming, boutique villa which is perfect for guests looking for a more modest hotel with friendly, laid back staff.

Rooms

The rooms at the Villa Brunella, although varying in antique furniture and décor, all have a fresh, airy feel to them. With whitewashed walls, fresh flowers and floral patterned chairs and duvets, the hotel oozes ‘classic Capri.’ All rooms have private balconies or patios with views over the beautiful gardens of the villa or overlooking the sea and Capri’s Marina Piccola. All rooms have spacious bathrooms with a bath and shower, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and flat-screen TVs. Some rooms also interconnect making Villa Brunella a great property for families.

Location

Only a ten-minute walk from the famous Piazzetta, the Villa Brunella boasts a fantastic location away from the crowds but within easy reach of the highlights of Capri. Like most properties in Capri, it is not accessible by car but luggage porters will be able to transfer your bags from the port easily. An electric buggy can be organised with the hotel for visitors with limited mobility.

Food and drink

Villa Brunella has one of the best restaurants on the island, Terrazza Brunella. The restaurant boasts fantastic views over the Marina Piccola, ideal for a special occasion while watching the sunset and the boats light up. The restaurant not only specializes in seafood but also typical Caprese dishes such as ravioli caprese. Guests can order room service and breakfast can be served in the room free of charge. For light snacks and drinks, there is a pool bar for residents only.

Facilities and activities

For a small, boutique hotel the Villa Brunella is well facilitated. The large pool and nearby sun terrace are a great way to wind down in the afternoon. Set among the gardens is the outdoor gym and massage areas. The gardens of this property are a real highlight with plenty of relaxing seating areas.
