Elephant Bedroom, Samburu National Reserve, Kenya
Set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu National Reserve, Elephant Bedroom Camp is surrounded by doum palms.
There are 12 luxury tents - (some on wooden stilts) and all are furnished in African and Arabian styles. Each has an ensuite bathroom, double or twin beds, and a lovely balcony overlooking the river with a small plungepool.
The main lounge and dining area are decorated with vibrant safari colours, original oil paintings and soft lighting designed to relax guests returning from an exciting game drive. Herds of elephant often come to the river to drink and you can watch them from the main area or from your very own veranda.
Activities on offer include morning and afternoon game drives as well as escorted guided walks with the resident naturalist. Dining is a culinary experience with al-fresco breakfast, three course lunch and four course candle lit gourmet dinner set either under the African sky or inside the main dining area.
