The yurts here, as at Song Kol, are the genuine article. Some of the nomads have effectively turned their homes into mobile guesthouses, taking in guests during the summer months and displaying the hospitality for which they are famed.
The yurts are often decorated with traditional shyrdaks and fabrics. Be sure to wake early — the mountains are said to be at their best at dawn.
