Luang Namtha is a mountainous area home to beautiful forests, rich river plains and many minority groups.

Often overlooked for the areas surrounding Muang Sing you will find that Luang Namtha offers a great base to explore the Nam Ha National Park, the Nam Tha River and the surrounding communities. The province contains no less than 25 different ethnicities including colourful Hmong and Akha tribes which make it the most ethnically diverse province in Laos. Due to improved road conditions this formerly remote area is now more accessible than ever.

Luang Namtha offers a wealth of treks and excursions, all of which can be catered to fit your requirements and needs. Options available include trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and boat trips, all vary in length and if longer than one day, include overnight stays at local villages.

Our agents work with a local company called Green Discovery, a leading ecotourism specialist in Laos. They work in partnership with the Nam Ha National Protected Area to ensure that tourism leaves a positive footprint.
