Kuang Si Waterfalls

Kuang Si Falls are 30 kilometres from town. The excursion leaves Luang Prabang at around 10am and heads toward Ban Ou by boat. En route you stop at a pottery village (Ban Chan).

Once you have arrived at Ban Ou, you have a picnic lunch (included) and then take the road to Kuang Si. This is an incredibly beautiful place, definitely worth the visit, as the waterfalls are very picturesque.

You can explore the area as it is possible to walk to the top, although we recommend the pools halfway up as the perfect place for a splash about. The walk up the side of the falls is a little precarious and be prepared to get a little wet!

After 4pm it's worth a stroll around some of the local villages such as the villages of the Kamu and H'mong (before this time they are empty as they are all out working in the paddy fields).

En route back to Luang Prabang, you may find that you have timed it perfectly to watch the sunset from Pha Bath Tai, a beautiful old temple.
