The Casa Mexicana is located just steps from the main pedestrianised area of San Cristóbal de las Casas making it a perfect base from which to explore the town.
The hotel has a quaint colonial style set in two parts on opposite sides of 28 de Agosto street. One side has an interior sky-lit garden and restaurant decorated with Mexican art and sculptures, the other building has a quiet open air courtyard and garden. All the 52 bedrooms open onto the gardens or private courtyards.
The rooms are simply furnished and a little dark due to the colonial nature of the building but comfortable at the same time. Attached to the hotel is a small shop selling artisan goods from the local area and the rooms and communal areas are also decorated with the work of local artists.
