Once the home of the Governor of Myanmar's southern states, this beautiful teak mansion dates back to the 1920s. Today, it stands majestically amidst beautifully tended gardens and lotus ponds in the quiet Embassy Quarter of Yangon. Guests here can relax in the peaceful surroundings, perhaps taking a refreshing dip in the pool or indulging in a spa treatment. Accommodation is spacious and stylishly decorated with teak furniture, tropical cottons and silks in a nod to the hotel's heritage, while traditional Burmese dishes can be enjoyed al fresco by lantern light as you unwind after a day of sightseeing. Accommodation is in three villas, with guests able to choose from Deluxe and Deluxe Garden rooms, Governor's rooms and one or two bedroom Junior Suites. All have a fresh and stylish décor, with white walls contrasting with the teak furniture and floors, and include Wi-Fi, satellite TV, minibars, hairdryers and en suite bathrooms.
Deluxe rooms overlook courtyard, while Deluxe Garden rooms have beautiful views of the lotus garden, with both room types featuring either double or twin beds and the option for an extra bed. Governor’s rooms are more spacious and contemporary, with hints of traditional Burmese décor, featuring a king or two queen size beds. Junior Suites are ideal for those seeking more space and that little bit of added luxury. Overlooking the gardens, they have a large living room and double or twin beds, with the two bedroom suites accommodating up to four guests.

Food and Drink
Mandalay Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating areas offering views out over the gardens and pool area. Special dinner evenings include a Burmese curry table, which takes place in the open-air lounge. Food served includes traditional Burmese cuisine and European dishes. Breakfast is served buffet-style with an additional omelette station and à la carte options.
Meanwhile, Mindon Lounge serves light refreshments and cocktails. There's also Kipling Bar - named after Rudyard Kipling, the bar has a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and cocktails, as well as an impressive cigar collection.
The hotel's large pool and gardens make it an enjoyable and relaxing property for all the family, while the two bedroom Junior Suites can be set up to cater for small families.
