Explore the colonial charm of Pyin Oo Lwin

You can explore Pyin Oo Lwin by car with your guide and driver. The main sights include; the colourful Chinese temple built by Yunnanese immigrants, the Purcell Tower built in 1936 to commemorate the 25th year of the rule of King George V, the Central Market where you can enjoy first-hand experience of local life, and the church of the Immaculate Conception constructed in 1906. You can also include a visit to the botanical gardens on this trip.

A little further outside the town is the Mahar Anhtoo Kan Tha Pagoda. Your guide will fill you in on the interesting history of this pagoda which originally was not planned to be built here. There is also a nearby waterfall which is worth a look if you have time.
