The Elegant Farmstead

The Elegant Farmstead is a converted farm on a 2,800 hectare ranch where springbok, eland, waterbuck, kudu, steenbok and jackal roam freely.

It is owner-run by Jörn and Birke who do everything to make your stay comfortable. The farmhouse retains its character but has been sympathetically converted to a comfortable guesthouse. Chickens happily cluck around the farmyard and there are a few cows still on the property.

Pretty gardens surround the farm buildings with a number of camel thorn trees providing ample shade and a good sized pool surrounded by sun loungers, ideal for relaxing on hot afternoons. There are 11 rooms which appear unassuming from the outside, but will surprise you on entering as they are spacious and stylish. They are well equipped and have en suite bathrooms with piping hot showers.

Food is excellent with the evening set menu presented on a blackboard each day so you can inform the kitchen if there is anything you don't like. Breakfasts have freshly baked pastries and breads, fresh fruit as well as a full cooked breakfast whilst dinners are a three course affair with homemade soups, fresh salads, perfectly cooked game fillets and delicious puddings. After dinner a campfire is lit outside and you can relax beside it and make frequent visits to the cheese and biltong platter served beside it.
