The Fort

The Fort, Nagarkot, Nepal

The Fort Resort has the best views of the Himalaya in Nagarkot. It is set on a ridge at 2000m at the far end of the town and it seems that there is nothing between you and the vast mountains as you eat or sip your tea on the terrace. The main building is quite large but is built using traditional Nepali architecture. Newari style cottages dotted about the gardens have lovely beamed ceilings and wooden floors with huge windows to take in the views and small terraces outside. Delicious local food is served in the restaurant or on the main terrace.
