Fletcher Lodge, Dunedin, New Zealand
Built by Sir James Fletcher in 1924 to serve as his private residence whilst he oversaw the construction of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition complex, this historic property was aptly named by its previous owners. It now offers elegant and luxurious accommodation in five guest rooms, each with its own character, and two newly completed self-contained apartments. To the back of the property is a secluded and private garden, where guests are encouraged to relax with a drink or take a dip in the hot tub. Despite its quiet location, the house is just a short walk from the city centre, with a good range of shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Your hosts, Ewa and Keith, serve a delicious breakfast in the mornings, and Ewa is a fount of local knowledge and will be more than happy to help you plan your time in the city or on the peninsula.
