Perched on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the Casa Andina Private Collection Puno is situated around a five-minute journey from the centre of Puno. Although away from town the Casa Andina's location on the lake is often preferable, with quiet surroundings and superb views.

Rooms are arranged over different levels, and the grounds stretch down to the lake itself — indeed, the hotel's pier is often the starting point for trips onto the lake. As with all hotels in Puno, the Casa Andina lacks a little character, but the comfortable rooms and friendly service more than make up for this.

OUR OPINION:

A polished, small hotel with a pleasant lakefront position. The light, modern and spacious building makes it one of the best options on the outskirts of Puno.

Rooms

The hotel's rooms all have oxygen available to help guests become accustomed to the high altitude. Guests can choose from Superior or Superior with Lake View rooms, but we recommend the latter where possible as the superb vistas of Titicaca add a special touch to your stay. All rooms feature a balcony, safe, hair dryer and coffee making facilities, along with a number of different bed combinations, including a king bed or two double beds, with some also accommodating three double beds.

Location

The location away from the town does mean that if you want to visit Puno itself you'll need to take a taxi, however Puno itself is a functional city and by staying away from the centre you're in a quieter and more relaxed location. The lake views offer a relaxing backdrop to your stay and we find that very few people find being outside of Puno to be an issue.

Food and drink

A buffet breakfast can be enjoyed each morning, while the Alma Restaurant serves lunch and dinner, specialising in a mix of Peruvian and international cuisine. Enclosed by a glass wall framing the lake, gardens and a large sunny terrace, diners can contemplate Lake Titicaca’s seemingly endless expanse while enjoying their meal.

Facilities and activities

Free Wi-Fi is offered in public areas of the hotel, with an internet centre and an ATM also to be found within the hotel. A laundry service and a massage service is also available.
