Babylonstoren, Paarl, South Africa
Babylonstoren is one of the best preserved farms of the Cape Dutch tradition. The manor house dates from 1777 and some of the structures date back to the founding of the farm in 1692.
The working farm is a perfect place to relax and makes a fabulous base from which to explore the winelands. The farm is spread over 200 hectares where you can enjoy guided walks around the grounds or simply stroll at your leisure. There is a spa on site, a gym to use and you can either swim or take a boat out in the dam. Picnic lunches and dinners can be arranged, as can sundowners over a glass of the local wine.
Babel, the award winning Babylonstoren restaurant, celebrates the seasons using locally grown produce.

Alternative places to stay nearby
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favourite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can’t be bettered.
The Grande Roche is without doubt the best hotel in Paarl, and possibly in the whole Winelands. Discretion, attentive service, and luxurious accommodation are assured, and the location is ideal.
