Chiang Mai city safari

Wat Chedi Luang, Chiang Mai

You will begin this fascinating one day tour by taking a Songthaew (local truck) to the old trader community of Wat Gatekaram. After exploring the narrow alleyways and winding pathways passing markets, temples and a vast array of unique 'street life', continue by songthaew to Wiang Kum Kam.

Following a massive flood, the city of Wiang Kum Kam vanished without a trace and for over 200 years became a lost civilisation buried under layers of earth. Explore the main ancient ruined temples by bicycle, before boarding a long-tail boat on the Mae Ping River that will bring you back into the city for lunch.

After lunch, a samlor ride along Thapae Road leads you to Wat Chedi Luang, one of the most spectacular ruins in the old city, where once the famous Emerald Buddha was enshrined. End the day with a tuk-tuk ride to Warorot Market to join the bustle of locals as they buy their fresh food and spices at this popular local market. With your guide hail a songthaew and return to your hotel.
