Are Tamanu Beach Village is situated on 220 metres of powder white beach right on Aitutaki's expansive lagoon, which is one of the Cook Islands' most stunning features. Directly translated, Are Tamanu means 'house of the mahogany tree' and the 'village' is the result of two small intimate resorts merging together, which are run by two local brothers who provide warm and friendly Cook Islands hospitality.
This small resort has two accommodation options to choose from. The 12 'Tamanu' Polynesian bungalows have wooden floors and traditional Cook Islands style thatched roofs. They are spacious, have a king sized bed, full kitchen facilities, separate bathroom and an outdoor decking area for admiring sunsets over the lagoon. The other choice is the lovely 'Manea Suites' which are very spacious and ideal for couples or families and come with lagoon views or a beachfront location. In addition to the bungalows and suites the resort also has two freshwater swimming pools, the 'Te Vaka Bar and Grill' and a poolside bar. This small family run resort is an ideal place to relax and get away from it all and enjoy Aitutaki's wonderful lagoon.
