In the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles archipelago draws you with its often-deserted sugar-sand beaches. Our specialists have hopped between islands to discover their beaches but also their distinct characters. We can recommend preferred snorkeling reefs and hiking trails or point you toward the freshest lobster lunch, as well as the best hotel to suit your tastes.
On a holiday in the Seychelles, it’s easy to while away your time on the powder-soft beaches (arguably the best are the boulder-framed coves of Praslin), but the islands offer much more. The largest, Mahé, has a wild, granite interior, while Bird Island hosts more than 800,000 pairs of breeding sooty terns. You’ll also find fairy terns, giant tortoises, and turtles so comfortable that you might see them mount the beach to lay their eggs in full daylight. Island hopping is simple thanks to a good network of flights and ferries, making the Seychelles convenient for a long stay but also a restful coda to an African safari.
