Set in an old caravanserai, the Divan is excellently located just outside the castle in the Old Town, situated behind Ankara's Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Inside, rooms are set around a central inner courtyard, which is decorated with skulls in the manner of a ranch house.
The owner of the Divan chain also runs a Museum of Transport in Istanbul (the Rahmi M. Koç Museum) and there is a mini version housed adjacent to the Divan Çukurhan, to which guests gain free entry. Throughout the hotel there are smaller models of ships displayed in corridors, and the excellent restaurant, which sits underneath the museum, is surrounded by vehicle models of all kinds. In addition to this unusual decor, the hotel boasts a spa, gym and a library, as well as a patisserie of the same Divan chain outside the hotel.
