Royal Lahaina Resort
Royal Lahaina Resort, Maui, Hawaii
The impressive Royal Lahaina Resort is set on Kaanapali Beach; offering three miles of soft white sand and occasional views of humpback whales in late October. With 333 guest rooms, 17 suites and a number of studio, one bedroom or two bedroom cottages, the resort presents a variety of accommodation options for guests to choose from.
Guest rooms are all decorated in keeping with the island's tropical setting and are fitted with one king size bed or two doubles. They span five categories based on the view type; with all but the standard rooms boasting at least partial ocean views. Well equipped with all the amenities you need for a pleasant stay, they include air conditioning, high speed internet access, a flat screen TV, telephone, electronic safe, sound system with MP3 dock, coffee maker with complimentary tea and coffee, hairdryer, en suite bathroom and private lanai (balcony).
The more spacious one bedroom suites have the option to be connected to create two bedroom suites; perfect for families or those wishing for more space. Each has a wonderful view of the ocean and sunset from private lanais and offers a separate living area, a king size bed or two doubles, plus a double sofa bed. Cottages vary in size from ground floor studios accommodating up to four guests, one bedroom cottages for up to six guests, and two bedroom cottage for up to eight guests. All enjoy views of either the lush gardens or the oceanfront, and all but the studios include a kitchenette, separate living area and one or two lanais.
Guests are never short of things to do when staying here; whether it's making use of the resort's three swimming pools or Jacuzzi, enjoying a game of tennis on one of the 11 illuminated courts, sipping a cocktail at one of the two onsite bars or tucking into a refreshing ice cream at the parlour. There are also bocce ball and shuffleboard courts, a fitness centre and lei making lessons; with staff always happy to assist in arranging further activities for you within the local area.
The Royal Ocean Terrace open air restaurant serves delicious Hawaiian dishes in full view of the ocean; with hula dancers and musicians performing as you dine in the glow of the sunset. You can also experience a traditional Hawaiian luau throughout the week, which features an open bar and all-you-can-eat buffet.
