Guided Louisiana swamp tour
Guided Louisiana swamp tour, The USA
Explore the meandering bayous and swamps of Louisiana’s back country with today's two hour swamp tour. The Cajun Pride Swamp is a privately owned wildlife refuge in the historical Manchac swamp. The sanctuary does not allow fishing or hunting, or allow other boats into the swamp, resulting in a completely undisturbed swamp experience with excellent wildlife viewing.
One of their experienced guides will cruise through the swamp, past the moss-draped trees and shrubs, keen to share their knowledge of the wetlands wildlife. You’ll have the chance to come close to the many alligators, deer, snakes and racoons, as well as a range of bird life. Your cruise will last for around one-and-a-half to two hours as part of a small group.
Refreshments are not provided but are available to purchase at the gift shop. Your tour will last approximately two hours.
We have tried and tested a number of swamp tours in the area and have found that nearly all tend to feed the alligators and many offer the opportunity to hold a rescue alligator. This is very much part of the “swamp outlook” towards alligators and, while this cannot be said for all of the touring companies in the area, Cajun Pride certainly boasts an outstanding reputation and a genuine love for the region and its creatures.
