Downtown and Brooklyn Tour, The USA

Enjoy a fascinating half-day journey through Brooklyn's mosaic of ethnic neighbourhoods. Discover the Brooklyn birthplaces of famous Americans like Barbra Streisand, Larry King, Woody Allen, Jackie Gleason, Spike Lee, George Gershwin and Jerry Seinfeld.

See the charming Brooklyn Heights nestled in ivy-covered brownstones and tree-lined streets which were home to writers Norman Mailer, Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams. Brooklyn is also home to world-class cultural institutions and you will see the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Prospect Park.

You will also learn about the lively Middle Eastern district on Atlantic Avenue, the famed Jewish Orthodox neighbourhood of Borough Park and the attractive Caribbean enclave of Crowne Heights. Stop for coffee in trendy Park Slope, whose elegant brownstone and limestone buildings are unmatched in the city.

Your guide will drive you through the predominantly Italian-American Sheepshead Bay, known for its fishing port and casino boats, and you will visit the Russian enclave of Brighton Beach, nicknamed "Little Odessa" with time to take a stroll along the six-mile-long boardwalk of Coney Island.

Before heading back to Manhattan, discover artsy Williamsburg, once an industrial landscape transformed today into a thriving art community.

Total duration is five hours.
