Day 4 Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
A full day to explore Perinet. Today you may wish to spend exploring the Perinet reserve, perhaps visiting the Indri in the morning as well as the other lemur species found in this area. In the afternoon you may want to explore the park further looking out for the numerous reptiles found here and wandering through the wonderful vegetation that this park is home to.
Day 5 Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
A day exploring the area with your guides. You may wish to travel the hour or so to the Mantadia National Park. Although the access road has been badly damaged, the journey is worthwhile as here the wildlife is quite different. Alternatively you can re-visit the Perinet area with your guides. This afternoon you might like to visit Lemur Island for some up-close lemur photography!
Day 6 Antananarivo
Today you will head out in the morning to explore the park in search of the Indri, the largest lemur species. The Indri have a very distinctive haunting cry, that you can hear in the early mornings. You will then head back to the capital where you will spend the night at your hotel.
Day 7 Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve
Early this morning you will be collected and driven to the airport where you will check in at the small Air Hotel office to the left of the departures hall in Tana Airport. You will be shown to the plane and you'll fly to Anjajavy, a flight of around 2 hours. You will land on the dirt airstrip and be met by the camp staff who will drive you to the hotel. Anjajavy has a beautiful setting on the coast, backed by deciduous forest. You often see brown lemurs in the grounds of the hotel. *Please kindly note that these time schedules are subject to change without notice - The feasibility of the flights is weather dependent*
Day 8 Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve
There are many activities to choose from at Anjajavy - the staff will advise you of the options and the various costs. We do recommend a walk in the forest as it has some beautiful tsingy, huge baobabs and plentiful wildlife. In the afternoon you must go for tea in the Oasis garden. This is very tranquil, the cakes are rather good and the brown lemurs and Coquerel's sifakas are often seen.
