The Gran Hotel is located right in the heart of the historical centre of Mexico City, steps from the Main Square, the National Palace of Government and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
It features original art nouveau decoration, a tiffany stained glass ceiling from 1908 and panoramic elevators from the beginning of the 20th century. It is a little jaded around the edges but full of charm with 60 comfortable rooms, high speed Internet connection, TV, high ceilings and hand made furniture.
The Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico also has a Mexican gourmet restaurant - the Terraza, on the roof with marvellous views down to the Zocalo. This hotel is the perfect starting point for discovering the historical part of Mexico City.
