Ålesund & Geirangerfjord short break

Spend the day exploring Ålesund by e-bike and on foot with a small group and local guide. Your experience will begin with a short ride through the heart of the city, ending at the foot of Sukkertoppen (Sugar Loaf mountain), where you will begin your hike. The top of the mountain is 314 m (over 1,000 ft) above sea level and you’ll travel through lush forest, and enjoy widespread views.

Today you’ll leave Ålesund and head to Geiranger on a cruise along the mighty Geirangerfjord. Along the way you’ll soak up the spectacular fjord and mountain scenery, including scenic waterside villages and waterfalls like the distinctive Seven Sisters Waterfall. Once you dock in Geiranger, you’ll be met at the port by your private driver and escorted to your hotel.

Head out onto the water today, on a shared kayaking tour. This is an enjoyable and relaxing way of immersing yourself in Geirangerfjord’s landscape. As you glide through the water, soaking up the scenery all around you, watch out for porpoise and seals, which can occasionally be found in the fjord. Your knowledgeable guide will be able to tell you about the local area, culture and history, and will point out various landmarks as you go. Later, pick up an electric car for a two-hour self-guided exploration of the nearby viewpoints, aided by an in-car audio guide.

Board the cruise back to Ålesund today, and spend the afternoon at your leisure in the city having a final exploration of the picturesque streets, or simply relax in a waterfront cafe.

You’ll be collected from your hotel and driven to the airport in time for your onward flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
