Las Clementinas Hotel, Panama City, Panama

Las Clementinas is a beautifully restored colonial building, sister hotel to Canal House. It was built in 1930 for Clementina Herrera and her daughter, the owner of a jewellery shop.

Six beautiful suites offer individual decorated living room, open plan kitchen, balcony, original tiling in the large head showers and comfortable queen size beds. Antiques and bold art feature throughout. Each offers ipod, cable television, room controlled air conditioning and beautiful overhead ceiling fans. On the ground floor the colonial era restaurant spills into the private garden at the back for al fresco dining under 80 year old palm trees next to a remnant of the old city wall from the 1700s (breakfast can also be taken here).

Please note the restaurant is only open from Tuesday to Sunday. It's worth being aware that there are sometimes early morning parades near to the hotel in the square as Las Clementinas is located opposite the police headquarters.
