Angleterre Hotel

Angleterre Hotel

St. Petersburg, Russia

Sister property to the five star Astoria, the Angleterre Hotel has one of the best postcodes in St Petersburg. The hotel has been renovated, so perhaps lacks some of the original features found in the Astoria, but it makes up for this in value and views, sharing many communal facilities with its sister hotel.

Many of its rooms have views of St Isaac's Cathedral, so you can admire the bronze dome of this architectural masterpiece over your morning coffee, while theatre enthusiasts can take advantage of the property's close proximity to the iconic Mariinsky Theatre.

OUR OPINION:

Well located and offering good value for money, the Hotel Angleterre is one of the classic institutions in the city. Be sure to try their wonderful hot chocolate in the lobby lounge after a hard day's sightseeing!

Rooms

The hotel has seven room and suite categories. One of the most important differences between the rooms is the views, with Classic and Executive rooms looking out onto the inner courtyard and garden, Deluxe and Superior rooms and Junior and Deluxe Suites enjoying views of St Isaac's Square and Cathedral, and Studio rooms overlooking Malaya Morskaya Street. Junior and Deluxe Suites are also more spacious than the rooms categories, featuring a cosy lounge area. All rooms and suites are equipped with modern amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a TV, safe, minibar and marble en suite bathroom. Classic and Executive rooms come with a queen size bed or twin beds, while the rest of the rooms and suites have king size beds.

Location

The Angleterre Hotel is about a ten minute walk from Nevsky Prospect, so a wonderful base from which to explore the delights of St Petersburg. There are some lovely restaurants just off St Isaac’s Square, which means that after a day of sightseeing you don’t have to venture far to enjoy a decent meal and reflect on your experiences. The Mariinsky Theatre is also within walking distance of the hotel, where guests can enjoy the most renowned ballet and opera productions in the city.

Food and drink

Guests of the Angleterre Hotel can eat at Astoria Hotel's restaurants should they wish, although it does have its own Italian restaurant called the BoRsalino, if guests want a change from Russian cuisine. A buffet breakfast is served daily between 7am and 10.30am.

Facilities and activities

The hotel offers a laundry and dry cleaning service, an on site doctor, transfers and a concierge service. There's also a gift shop, lobby lounge and meeting facilities on site.
