Day 2 The Sabi Sand Wildtuin

Johannesburg , Hoedspruit , The Sabi Sand Wildtuin

You'll be met at the airport in Johannesburg by a ground representative who will help you with your onward flight to Hoedspruit Airport. Once you arrive in Hoedspruit, you'll meet your driver in the arrivals hall for your private transfer to the safari lodge. Once you arrive at the lodge, you'll be able to settle in for lunch before heading out on your afternoon game drive. Your first game drive departs in the late afternoon and brings you back to the lodge in time for dinner. The weather cools down during the late afternoon and nocturnal animals wake up ready to hunt through the night.

Day 3 The Sabi Sand Wildtuin

The Sabi Sand Wildtuin

Daybreak is a magical time to be in the bush and you'll wake up as the birds begin to sing. After meeting your guide for a quick cup of coffee and a rusk (crunchy South African biscuit), you'll begin your morning game drive. Diurnal animals are in search of food and water during this time and nocturnal animals may still be active too. Your morning game drive normally lasts around three hours and you'll be back at the lodge in time for breakfast. You then have the chance to relax for the rest of the day before having lunch and heading out on your afternoon game drive.

Day 4 The Sabi Sand Wildtuin

The Sabi Sand Wildtuin

After your morning game drive and breakfast, you could join a bush walk, which is great to spot smaller animals and the huge abundance of birdlife and flora. There is also the option of booking a spa treatment this afternoon, before your game drive.

Day 5 Hazyview

The Sabi Sand Wildtuin , Hazyview

This morning you'll head out on your last morning game drive of the trip. Your ranger will be keen to spot and track wildlife you may not have seen during your safari. You'll check out after breakfast and then meet your driver for your private transfer to Hazyview. Your driver will take you on a scenic route which covers a section of the famous Panorama Route which has some fantastic scenery. You'll arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you'll be transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport to meet your scheduled transfer to Maputo Harbour. The drive will take approximately four hours (including the border crossing into Mozambique). Once you arrive at the harbour, you'll be transferred across to Machangulo by boat. The boat transfer should take a maximum of 90 minutes. Machangulo Lodge is situated in the south of Mozambique on a secluded Peninsula and has a range of activities on offer. The lodge is secluded and surrounded by three nature reserves and two marine reserves. When you arrive, you'll be able to settle before dinner.

The white sandy beaches and warm Indian Ocean waters of Machangulo are what makes Mozambique one of the best beach destinations in Africa. After breakfast, you'll have the morning at leisure.
