Jasmine's love of travelling began with her interest in animals, something which continues to drive her travels. After finishing school she embarked on her first round the world trip to the USA, Fiji and New Zealand, where she swam with wild dolphins in Kaikoura and trekked on the Franz Josef glacier.
After graduating, she immediately set her sights on South America and began a three month trip to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Bolivia. It was here she fell in love with Patagonia and fulfilled a lifelong dream of trekking in the Amazon to see wild animals.
Having always had Audley on her radar from growing up in Witney, Jasmine took it upon herself to make her passion for travelling into a career. Since joining Audley as a Latin America Specialist, Jasmine was lucky enough to go back to Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. Her highlights included seeing Torres del Paine for the first time and horse riding with a genuine gaucho.
I'll never forget when…
One of my most memorable experiences was a morning horse ride to the top of Sierra Dorotea, just outside Puerto Natales in Chile.
I was the only person on the excursion other than my guide and the gaucho who was leading the ride. This was an incredibly relaxing way to explore the landscape as you slowly meander through the fields stopping to see local wildlife along the way. As we came up to the top of the viewpoint it started lightly snowing and for a while both man and horse just looked out to the cliffs completely at peace.
Once we were back in the tac room the three of us shared the popular hot drink 'mate' and chocolate, whilst discussing the history of the ranch and lives of the ranchers who have lived there.
