After studying Events Management with Tourism at university, Kate put her wanderlust to good use by going on to work for five ski seasons around Europe; fitting them around other work and travels. Wanting a change from the mountains, she took on a job based in Vietnam, working for a large hospitality group managing a popular beach club.
After spending two years living and travelling in Asia, her love for travel brought her back to the UK where she joined Audley as an Indochina Specialist, to share her passion for the region. Since returning home and joining Audley, Kate has had the opportunity to revisit Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
Her visit reminded her of all the reasons why she fell in love with Southeast Asia. As a keen foodie with a real interest in anthropology, Indochina is an ideal match for Kate.
I'll never forget when…
A particular highlight of a recent trip to Laos was taking a small boat in the early morning and sailing through the landscape of the Nam Ou River.
Stopping at the Pak Ou caves and being the only person in the cave to observe the 300 statues of Buddha was such a 'pinch me' moment. Climbing the banks of the river to the Nam Ou Riverside Resort for lunch was the perfect opportunity to sit on the balcony and take in the views.
