The Victoria Angkor Resort and Spa overlooks a beautiful garden in the center of Siem Reap. The service is amongst the very best in town, and the poolside breakfast buffet on a sunny morning provides the perfect start to your day. Rooms
The resort has three different room categories, with the entry-level Superior rooms styled using traditional tiles and dark wood. Each of them can be set up with a king size bed or twin beds and has its own balcony overlooking the gardens. The Deluxe rooms are the next category up, but are similarly styled, with balconies overlooking the pool area. The hotel's most luxurious offering are the Colonial Suites, which allow guests more exclusivity and space, featuring a separate living room and special touches such as an in-room coffee machine and a separate bath and shower.
Location
The Victoria Angkor is located in the center of town, across from the Royal Park. The resort is in walking distance to the quaint old market, local bars and restaurants, and the gentle walk along the Siem Reap river to the Psar Chas area gives visitors the opportunity to view old colonial buildings and experience authentic Cambodia. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor is six kilometers from the hotel and the international airport seven kilometers.
Food and Drink
The resort has four dining options, each showcasing a different type of cuisine. L’Escale, the largest restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, specializing in Cambodian and Western cuisine. L’Explorateur is a smaller option and offers light dishes set in a relaxing atmosphere. Le Connaisseur is a French dining option and allows clients to embark on a gastronomic adventure in a romantic setting. The Vegan Corner completes the list of options and offers vegan dishes, natural juices and organic ingredients.
Families
Connecting rooms are available and the resort benefits from having a small children’s pool. Babysitting services are available and the hotel also has a kids club (maximum 12 years of age) which is open from 7am to 6pm daily.
Facilities and Activities
There's a saltwater swimming pool as well as a children's pool on site. The property also has a relaxing spa, the Healthysens, which offers a wide range of treatments, a Jacuzzi and yoga classes. Vintage car tours, bicycle hire and Khmer cooking classes are also available. There's also a library with books and DVDs, as well as board games.
Our opinion
A firm Audley favorite, this resort offers excellent value for money and possibly the best swimming pool area in Cambodia - great for relaxing after a full day of exploring. It's also a great option for families.
