This trip is an ideal short trip for the wildlife enthusiast, taking in two national parks and also includes a visit to the Taj Mahal. Starting in the north, visit the Taj Mahal in Agra. Take an overnight train to Bandhavgarh where you have three nights to explore the park and its inhabitants. You will then continue by road to Kanha, which is a larger park and famous for its meadows. Both parks provide opportunities for tiger sightings but also host a diverse range of other equally impressive wildlife.

Day 1 Delhi

Delhi

On arrival you will be met by our local representatives who will transfer you to your hotel in New Delhi. In the afternoon you will have a guided tour of the highlights of Old Delhi. Starting off in the Old City, you will experience the sights, smells and people of Chandi Chowk Bazaar.

Day 2 Agra

Delhi , Agra

Today you will be driven by private car from Delhi to Agra. Your driver will be able to suggest places to visit along the way, including small local villages or recommended restaurants.

Agra

Rise early to visit the Taj Mahal to enjoy the most beautiful monument in India as it awakens at sunrise. Your guide will then take you on a tour of the city's other sites which include the impressive Red Fort and I'timad ud Daulah, popularly known as the Baby Taj. This evening you board the overnight sleeper train to Katni, the nearest railhead to Bandhavgarh National Park.

Day 4 Bandhavgarh National Park

Katni , Bandhavgarh National Park

Transfer from the railway station to your lodge in Bandhavgarh. In the afternoon you will go on your first jeep safari in the park.

Bandhavgarh National Park

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the park today. You should be able to see many of the spotted deer, sambar and birdlife in the park as well as keeping an eye out for the illusive tiger.

Day 6 Bandhavgarh National Park

Bandhavgarh National Park

A further morning and afternoon jeep safari today. It's possible to spot wild boar and mongoose as well as the rare sloth bear.

Day 7 Kanha National Park

Today you will drive south to Kanha, not only the biggest park in India, but a very scenic one too with many vegetation and habitat types. Time permitting you may take your first game drive in Kanha in the afternoon.

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Kanha. Large numbers of swamp deer have been recorded here and with some luck you will see herds of them in the meadows.

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris. With some expert guiding from your naturalist you may be lucky enough to spot a tiger.

Final morning game drive in Kanha. After the chance to freshen up you will drive to Nagpur.
